After each batch of poultry is released, the disinfection and drinking water system should be carefully cleaned.
Good drinking water hygiene requires a complete drinking water system cleaning and disinfection program. The structure of waterlines is diverse and their state of affairs is constantly changing, which can pose challenges to waterline sanitation. However, we can use the daily water quality information and the correct cleaning and disinfection methods to solve these problems. Follow the guidelines below and your poultry will have a great supply of water.
The first step: analysis of water quality.
Analyze the mineral content of the scale (calcium, magnesium and manganese). If the water contains more than 90ppm of calcium and magnesium, or contains more than 0.05ppm of manganese, more than 0.3ppm of calcium and more than 0.5ppm of magnesium, then you must include detergent or a cleaning agent in your cleaning and disinfection procedures. The product will dissolve mineral deposits in the water line and its accessories.
Step 2: Choose a cleaning and disinfecting agent.
Choose a cleaning and disinfecting agent that effectively dissolves the biofilm or mucus in the water line. The best product with this function is a complex hydrogen peroxide solution. Before using a high concentration of cleaning disinfectant, make sure that the exhaust pipe is working properly to release the accumulated gas in the line; in addition, consult the equipment supplier to avoid unnecessary losses.
Step 3: Configure the cleaning and disinfecting solution.
For best results, use the recommended upper concentration on the cleaning and disinfectant label. Most dosing devices can only dilute the original solution to 0.8-1.6%. If you must use a higher concentration, prepare a cleaning and disinfecting solution in a large tank and then inject the water line directly without the applicator. For example, if a 3% solution is to be prepared, 3 parts of the original drug solution is added to 97 parts of water. The best cleaning and disinfecting solution can be a hydrogen peroxide solution.
The fourth step: cleaning the disinfection water line.
Filling a water line 30 meters long and 20 millimeters in diameter requires approximately 30-38 liters of cleaning and disinfecting solution. If a 150-meter-long house has two water lines, you should prepare at least 380 liters of disinfectant. A drain port shall be provided at the end of the waterline to open the drain port after complete cleaning and completely discharge the cleaning and disinfecting solution. Follow the steps below to clean the disinfection line: 1. Open the water line and completely drain the water from the line. 2. Fill the water line with a clean disinfectant solution. 3. Observe whether the solution flowing out of the drain has the characteristics of a disinfecting solution, such as with a foam. 4. Once the water line is full of cleaning and disinfecting solution, close the valve; keep the disinfectant in the line for more than 24 hours according to the manufacturer's recommendations. 5. After a period of time, rinse the water line. The rinsing water should contain a disinfectant at the same concentration as the daily drinking water of the poultry. 6. After the water line has been cleaned, disinfected and rinsed, the incoming water source must be fresh and must be purified (3-5 ppm from the farthest source of the water source). If using a redox potentiometer, the reading should be at least 650. 7. During the empty house, the pipeline from the well to the house should also be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. It is best not to flush the lines in the house with water from the outside line. Please connect the water pipe to the cannula of the dosing device and backflush the pipe outside the house.
Step 5: Remove scale.
After the water line is cleaned and disinfected, the scale can be removed with a detergent. Hydrogen peroxide is a product with descaling action. When using detergents, follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
Step 6: Keep the waterline clean.
After the water line is cleaned and disinfected, it is important to keep the water line clean. You should develop a good daily disinfection procedure for poultry. The ideal waterline disinfection protocol should include the addition of disinfectants and acidifiers. Please note that this procedure requires two dosing devices because the acid and bleaching powders cannot be mixed together when formulating the concentrate. If there is only one dosing device, add a concentrate containing 40 grams of 5% bleaching powder per liter to the drinking water at a dilution ratio of 7.5 grams of concentrate: 1 liter.
1. Please do not use acidifier as the only method of water treatment, because the use of acidifier alone can cause bacteria and fungi to grow and proliferate in the waterline. 2. More and more people are not worrying about water - a stable state compound hydrogen peroxide solution is used as a drinking water disinfectant. There will be no residue. It is a very effective disinfectant and waterline cleaner, and it does not damage the waterline. 3. When we use other drugs or vaccines for poultry, stop adding disinfectant to the drinking water. Disinfectants can inactivate vaccines and reduce the effectiveness of some drugs. After the administration or immunization, the disinfectant should be continued in the drinking water. 4.
